Driver said zombies led to multiple car crashes

New Jersey residents may have heard of a recent accident where a young driver blamed it on zombies. A 19-year-old man who stole a semi-trailer truck full of strawberries claims zombies jumped on the rig and that he was only trying to shake them off when he crashed into several automobiles before finally overturning.

NJ collision results in one death, two serious injuries

One man died and and another two individuals were seriously injured following a three-car collision in Princeton. The car accident took place on Riverside Drive in the morning of March 28. A 20-year-old male was speeding in his BMW when he struck an unoccupied Toyota Camry that was parked on the side of the road. The Camry then struck a Toyota Prius. Police stated that the BMW's excessive speeds caused the Camry to be pushed approximately 500 feet down the road. The Prius was also pushed down the road and into a tree.

Police stated that the BMW's excessive speeds caused the Camry to be pushed approximately 500 feet down the road. The Prius was also pushed down the road and into a tree. A retired rabbi for the Center for Jewish Life at Princeton University who was 74 years old was getting into the passenger side of the parked Prius when the vehicle was struck. The man was thrown onto the ground by the collision, and efforts to save his life at the scene were unsuccessful. Another 63-year-old man was in the driver's seat of this vehicle at the time, and he and the BMW's driver were taken to a local hospital for treatment for serious injuries. 

Man charged in hit-and-run pedestrian accident

A 21-year-old New Jersey man faces multiple charges in relation to a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian that took place early on the morning of March 17. The incident took place near the Nechanic Inn on Woodfern Road. According to law enforcement officials, a pedestrian approached the man, who was in his pickup truck, with the intention of confronting him about his reckless driving. The driver of the pickup truck then hit the pedestrian with his truck as he was walking away. After striking the pedestrian, the suspect fled southbound. When law enforcement officials arrived at the scene of the auto accident, they found the victim lying in the road. He had a broken hand, a fractured skull and internal injuries. Police discovered the driver near the intersection of Woodfern Road and LeHigh Road. After fleeing the scene, he had struck a guardrail and crashed. Charges filed against the driver include driving while intoxicated, aggravated assault and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in serious bodily injury.
