Major crash leaves one dead, another injured in New Jersey

Authorities in New Jersey have stated that a deceased 21-year-old woman was killed on Sept. 11 as she stood on the side of the road in Long Branch. It is believed that she had just been involved in a minor car accident on Joline Avenue when the fatal incident occurred.

Media sources report that the victim was driving a Volkswagen Jetta when she was involved in a traffic accident with a Toyota Tundra driven by a 49-year-old man. After they had pulled over to the side of the road, a 46-year-old man operating a Dodge Ram rear-ended the decedent's Volkswagen and fatally injured the decedent. The Tundra's driver was taken to a nearby hospital with reportedly non-life threatening injuries.

An auto accident such as this one necessarily involves multiple variables. Someone who has suffered a personal injury as a result of a reckless driver, regardless of that injury's severity, often incurs damages from medical expenses and lost wages that they may not be prepared to handle. In addition to that injury, the wrongful death that has occurred will almost certainly have grave consequences for the decedent's family, both in the form of their pain and suffering and any expenses they inevitably incur. Both of these variables may require some form of crash reconstruction or external investigation to learn more about how the accident occurred; if the other party is deemed liable for the death and injury sustained, he may be held accountable for their associated damages.

An experienced accident attorney may be able to conduct such a review on behalf of the victims or their families. In addition, a lawyer may be able to assist the families by facilitating their negotiations with the applicable insurance companies and helping to ensure that their claims are settled equitably.
