When a car crash occurs, the results can sometimes be fatal. Unfortunately, when the crash is a head-on collision, the chances for survival are even less, making it one of the worst type of car wrecks to be involved in.

A head-on crash occurred on Dec. 7 at 12:35 a.m. on the New Jersey Turnpike in Kearny, killing a Clifton, New Jersey, man and a 22-year-old woman from out-of-state. According to a New Jersey State Police sergeant, both drivers were killed when the accident occurred. One of the cars was reportedly traveling in the wrong direction, but authorities have not made a determination at this time as to who was at fault.

A 20-year-old male was riding in the 22-year-old woman’s car when the accident occurred. The male passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The police sergeant stated that the accident is being investigated.

Whenever a serious auto accident like this one occurs, negligent driving is often to blame. In this case, an individual was driving the wrong way down a road. Once police determine which driver it was, the family of the other driver may be able to seek legal recourse. While it may seem cold or inappropriate to file a lawsuit against an individual’s estate, a family should not be left with serious financial burden because of another driver’s actions. For this reason, it can be beneficial for those involved in accident, and their families, to understand all of their rights and options for seeking compensation for personal injuries, pain and suffering or wrongful death.
