On Saturday, a serious collision took place in Jackson Township. According to police, a 27-year-old man for some reason crossed the center line of I-95, putting his vehicle into the path of oncoming traffic. Shortly before 10:50 that morning, his car collided with a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old woman.

Sadly, the man was ejected from his vehicle upon impact and died at the scene. The woman, from Wall Township, sustained minor injuries as a result of the car accident. She received treatment at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Police believe the driver who crossed the center line lost control of his vehicle, but the accident is still being investigated.

Unfortunately, accidents like this happen far too often. It seems that we hear about them nearly every day in the news. And though many people may think that if you’re injured in a car accident you are simply stuck to deal with bad luck — whether that means having your car repaired or seeking medical attention — it’s important to know that there are ways to seek help.

When a negligent driver causes a crash, he or she can be held financially responsible through a personal injury lawsuit — even if, as in this case, the driver dies. While fatal accidents are of course tragic for all those involved, when another driver is injured, he or she should not be left with potentially debilitating expenses as a result. An experienced attorney can help explain the process of filing a personal injury claim, which can help cover medical expenses and other related costs.
