NJ collision results in one death, two serious injuries

One man died and another two individuals were seriously injured following a three-car collision in Princeton. The car accident took place on Riverside Drive in the morning of March 28. A 20-year-old male was speeding in his BMW when he struck an unoccupied Toyota Camry that was parked on the side of the road. The Camry then struck a Toyota Prius. Police stated that the BMW's excessive speeds caused the Camry to be pushed approximately 500 feet down the road. The Prius was also pushed down the road and into a tree.

A retired rabbi for the Center for Jewish Life at Princeton University who was 74 years old was getting into the passenger side of the parked Prius when the vehicle was struck. The man was thrown onto the ground by the collision, and efforts to save his life at the scene were unsuccessful. Another 63-year-old man was in the driver's seat of this vehicle at the time, and he and the BMW's driver were taken to a local hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

Police continue to investigate this accident, and criminal charges have not been filed against the BMW's driver. Even if criminal charges are not filed, those who have been affected by this car accident may seek justice by filing a civil lawsuit against the driver. A civil lawsuit could provide the surviving victim and the family of the deceased victim with financial compensation for their accident-related expenses.

A car accident such as this one may cause victims to feel a financial burden as a result of medical bills, lost wages, funeral costs and other expenses. A civil lawsuit for personal injury or wrongful death may help ease this financial strain. Those who are interested in exploring their legal rights may contact a New Jersey personal injury lawyer to learn more.
