People from New Jersey and other states are watching as a Florida woman who, now 30, is requesting a jury trial and wants to renounce her no contest plea in a case that involved the death of a military man. She received a sentence of 25 years in prison after the soldier was killed in an auto accident. In addition, she was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay restitution of $70,000 to the man's family.
On June 17 just after 1:15 p.m, a school bus was involved in a collision on Blackwood-Clementon Road in Lindenwold. Dashboard camera video shows the bus driving down the wrong side of the road as other vehicles swerved out of the way. The video then shows the bus collide with a Honda Civic. The driver of the Civic lost control of the vehicle, and both vehicles spun into a pedestrian on the other side of the street. A 9-year-old witness to the car stated that the front end of both vehicles was smashed in the car accident.
A 43-year-old Williamstown resident allegedly collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of North Main Street and East Lois Drive in Monroe Township. The Williamstown resident was driving a pickup truck when he allegedly attempted to turn left into the intersection and consequently turned in front of the motorcycle, causing a motorcycle accident that left two injured.
An accident involving a motorcycle and tractor-trailer in South Brunswick highlights the need for New Jersey motorists to stay aware of motorcyclists on the road. The motorcycle accident occurred on Distribution Way on a Friday at approximately 5:11 p.m. The 26-year-old motorcyclist was on the roadway, and police reported that the 38-year-old driver of a tractor-trailer turned onto the road in front of him. The 2012 Yamaha motorcycle, according to the investigation, did not have time to avoid a collision with the rear of the truck.
