A woman was recently ran down by a drunk driver in a swerving vehicle as she stood on the sidewalk in Rutherfield, New Jersey. She sustained serious injuries and is still in critical condition. A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with DWI, according to the Bergen County prosecutor's office.
A man was allegedly high on PCP when he drove the wrong way at a high rate of speed and caused a collision which killed two people and injured two others on January 31, 2013. He was arraigned on August 9 on charges of two counts of death by auto, one count of aggravated assault and exceeding the speed limit. He is being held on a $1 million bail.
A 20-year-old man from New Jersey has been charged with vehicular homicide as a result of an accident in northern New Jersey that left two men dead and two other men seriously wounded. The man was allegedly speeding when the crash occurred in Maplewood. The man crashed into another car after he disregarded a stop sign.
Traffic was reportedly backed up on the New Jersey Turnpike for approximately five hours on August 1, 2013, after a crash occurred. According to the New Jersey State Police, the driver of a Kenworth tractor-trailer decided to pass the driver of a Peterbilt dump truck that was driving in front of it in the right lane. When the tractor-trailer attempted to pass the dump truck, the front passenger side of the Kenworth hit the rear driver's of the dump truck, causing the tractor-trailer to jack knife and the dump truck to crash into the woods.
