A New Jersey woman ended up in the hospital after the car she was driving was hit from behind and pushed into the vehicle in front of her. The event set off what local police called a five-car chain reaction accident on Sept. 19.
Authorities in New Jersey have stated that a deceased 21-year-old woman was killed on Sept. 11 as she stood on the side of the road in Long Branch. It is believed that she had just been involved in a minor car accident on Joline Avenue when the fatal incident occurred.
The Newark police department is working closely with personnel from the Essex County prosecutor's major crimes unit to conduct an investigation into an Aug. 31 fatal collision between a motorcycle and a car to determine if there were any contributing circumstances that might result in criminal charges being filed in the case.
New Jersey State Police reported that two tractor trailers were in an accident that tied up traffic on Interstate 287 South near a bridge that crosses the Wanaque River. One of the trucks ended up going off the road and was severely damaged. The other tractor trailer jackknifed and wound up blocking three lanes of traffic on the busy roadway. Torrential rainfall made it challenging for those who responded to the accident.
