New Jersey motorcycle accident kills 1, injures another

The Newark police department is working closely with personnel from the Essex County prosecutor’s major crimes unit to conduct an investigation into an Aug. 31 fatal collision between a motorcycle and a car to determine if there were any contributing circumstances that might result in criminal charges being filed in the case.

The crash occurred on Grove Street near the intersection of Grain Street. A 33-year-old man was driving a Suzuki motorcycle in Grove Street’s northbound lane when he was involved in a head-on collision with a 2001 Honda traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the motorcycle, who was from the Madison area, died from his injuries at the scene of the motorcycle accident before he could be transported to a medical facility for treatment. The driver of the Honda, who is identified only as a resident of Cape May, survived the crash and was taken to University Hospital to be treated. Further information about the automobile driver has not yet been released by police.

Individuals who have suffered a severe injury in a motorcycle accident may need professional assistance to help recover costs such as medical expenses, vehicle repair and lost wages that they have incurred. Personal injury lawyers experienced in this area may be able to negotiate a fair and equitable settlement for their client’s damages, including medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. In the event of a fatal accident, experienced personal injury lawyers may be able to pursue a wrongful death claim on behalf of the victim’s survivors.
