On Oct. 12, a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on North Hook Road in Pennsville Township. According to reports, the auto accident took place at around 5:22 p.m., but it was not reported if visibility conditions or the pedestrian’s location might have played roles in the incident.
Although the exact chain of events leading up to the accident was not specified, police said that, prior to the accident, they received complaints of a motorist driving recklessly. Officers responded to the scene discovered that the 51-year-old driver, a local man, had hit a pedestrian as he drove northbound through the 400 block of North Hook Road.
Although the pedestrian was hit, he denied medical treatment for his reported wrist pain. However, he may seek treatment at a later time, for which he could choose to request that the driver to pay the cost. The Pennsville motorist was detained and later released on summonses until his court date. He faces charges of driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and vehicular assault.
