On March 9, at approximately 3:45 a.m., an accident involving three cars took the life of a young man from Linden, according to New Jersey State Police. The accident occurred on the Garden State Parkway near mile marker 137.9 heading southbound.

The man who was killed was driving a Toyota Celica through Clark when the accident occurred. A Cadillac and a GMC Sierra were also involved in the crash. An 18-year-old girl from Cranford was driving the GMC, and a 37-year-old man who was from Asbury Park was the driver of the Cadillac.

The young man was lying in the road authorities arrived at the scene. Emergency personnel transported him to Newark’s University Hospital for treatment, but about one hour after the accident, he passed away. Both the other drivers suffered injuries as well, but they were not considered to be life threatening. Authorities airlifted the young girl to University Hospital, while the Cadillac driver was transported there via ambulance.

According to authorities, there have been no charges filed, and the specific details of this accident are still being sorted out by investigators. However, if one of the drivers is found to have been at fault in the car accident, the other drivers could file a claim for compensation to cover medical bills, loss of income and pain and suffering, and the family of the deceased driver could file a wrongful death claim. A personal injury attorney could help with those filing the claims by examining all of the evidence in the case, advising the client of his or her rights and options, and preparing a strong case for pursuing compensation in the matter.
