At approximately 2 a.m. on May 18, a fatal accident took the life of a 49-year-old Sparta man in Bernards Township on Route 287. A 25-year-old man from Mendham was going north and lost control of his vehicle, and struck the center median of the highway. Then the car spun out cross all three lanes of the highway, crashing into the guardrail on the right side of the road before it came to rest in the right and center lanes, according to police.
Three people were injured and one person died in an accident that occurred on May 11. The accident happened around 1:25 a.m. on the northbound side of the New Jersey Turnpike in Newark. According to investigators, the collision occurred when a female driver lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a barrier on the turnpike. Local reports were unable to discern whether or not the driver was one of the people injured in the collision. Police charged her with driving while intoxicated.
A woman is in critical condition and another is dead after a pedestrian accident on April 27. The accident occurred at the intersection of Evesham and Kresson roads in Voorhes at approximately 8:21 p.m., authorities said. Reportedly, the driver who struck the two women was distracted at the time of the incident.
