A spokesman with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office reported that a head-on collision that occurred on Dec. 14 claimed the life of a woman. The accident occurred around 8:25 a.m. on Route 66.
According to authorities, 10 people were injured in an accident that occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike outer roadway on Dec. 17 at 7:49 a.m. The four vehicle collision occurred when a tractor-trailer that was traveling in the right center lane attempted to change lanes into the left center lane, causing a chain reaction series of crashes. The truck crashed into the back side of a bus traveling in the High Occupancy vehicle lane; two other trucks were also involved in the crash.

According to authorities, a man believed to have been driving a black Ford Econoline allegedly killed a 77-year-old woman from Nutley after he struck her with his vehicle and fled the scene. The incident occurred around noon on Nov. 15 when the victim was crossing Centre Street at Ravine Avenue; she was found in the street and pronounced dead the same day at University Hospital in Newark.
