Filing a complaint with OSHA

Your job is your livelihood. It may not be your joy, and it may not be your passion. However, it is behind what drives so many of us to joy and passion, it offers us a way to support our dreams and our pursuit of happiness. That happiness typically comes from good health, a loving family, adventure, travel and vacations or even a great book. When the means to the end leaves you fearing it might mean your end, you may work in hazardous conditions, and you may benefit from contacting the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

OSHA is set about to protect workers from avoidable occupational dangers, and they will investigate claims of imminent danger at a workplace as well as claims that an employer may not be following correct safety protocol, thereby leaving its workers in harm's way.

You can file an OSHA complaint anonymously so that you have no fear of a potential whistle-blower retaliatory move on the part of the employer. You can also file online or by fax, mail or telephone. When filing an OSHA complaint, a worker doesn't have to prove or report a specific violation. The worker can simply express that conditions don't appear to be safe or appear to be detrimental to workers.

If you are in New Jersey, and you fear your job is depriving you of good health, you may have a case against the company.  If it is too late for an OSHA investigation to prevent an accident and you have already been seriously injured, or you have lost a loved one due to a workplace injury, you may benefit from working with a personal injury attorney that will hold the company financially responsible for the monetary, physical and mental burdens that were put upon you due to unsafe practices.
