Motorcycle accidents: Biker dies after crash with farm tractor

A 55-year-old biker lost his life recently after a collision with a farm tractor. Motorcycle accidents like this one in New Jersey typically give rise to many unanswered questions, which can only be answered after reconstruction of the incident. Reportedly, the crash occurred at about 7 p.m. on a recent Wednesday on Route 57.

According to a preliminary accident report, the eastbound motorcyclist collided with a westbound farm tractor hauling a corn planter. However, the circumstances that led to the crash are yet to be determined. First responders arrived at the scene, and paramedics treated the biker before he was transported to a medical facility. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries later. The 62-year-old operator of the tractor was not injured.

The police department and members of the county prosecutor’s office were at the scene. Joining them were the fire department, a reconstruction and serious injury team, and the traffic diversion unit of the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Despite the three-hour closure of Route 57 to attend to the accident, the investigation remains ongoing, and the person at fault is yet to be determined.

If the tractor crossed the center line and caused the collision, the surviving family members of the deceased biker would likely have grounds to file a wrongful death lawsuit in pursuit of a judgment for monetary damages. A New Jersey attorney with experience in dealing with victims of motorcycle accidents who were left with serious injuries, or the surviving family members of bikers who lost their lives, can launch an independent investigation to determine the viability of a claim and the party or parties deemed responsible. Legal counsel can also provide valuable support and guidance throughout ensuing legal proceedings.
