Did you suffer dog bite injuries? Consider taking legal action

Crisp autumn weather is finally making it's annual return to New Jersey, bringing with it colorful foliage and scenic landscapes that make spending some time outdoors an enjoyable experience. Sometimes, an unsuspecting person can become the victim of an animal attack while enjoying the great outdoors. When it comes to dog bite injuries, a victim may be curious about what legal recourse may be appropriate.

Recently, a little girl in another state was having fun walking on a nature trail with her parents. There were other people enjoying the trail that day, including and and woman walking a pit bull on a leash. As the couple with the dog passed the young child and her family, the dog attacked the little girl.

Even though the dog was leashed, the owners failed to prevent the animal from biting the child on the arm. The horrifying attack left the child in need of immediate medical attention, and she needed several stitches. The Park Service is asking for the public's help to identify the dog and it's owners.

If similar dog bite injuries occur in New Jersey, a victim may want to explore his or her options to seek justice in a court of law. In a case like this, civil action against the individuals walking the dog would likely be appropriate. A victim that is ready to take action may want to consider contacting an experienced attorney. An attorney can assist a client through each step of the legal process and aim for a verdict that reflects the suffering a victim endured as the result of another party's careless or negligent behavior.
